The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today unveiled an extensive talent hunt programme, initiating a nine-city search for promising U19 and Emerging women”s cricketers, set to commence on 14 April.
The nationwide assessments will begin at Faisalabad”s Iqbal Stadium on 14 April. The first leg of the initiative will then proceed to Lahore”s LCCA Ground on 15 April, Peshawar”s Imran Khan Stadium on 16 April, and the Abbottabad Stadium on 17 April.
Following a brief pause, the second phase will start in Multan at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre on 21 April, moving to Bahawalpur”s Women Sports Stadium two days later.
The search for talent will then continue at Quetta”s Bugti Stadium on 27 April and Karachi”s Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre on 30 April. The programme will culminate at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 1 May.
Eligibility for the U19 category requires players to be born on or after 1 September 2007, with a minimum age of 12. Conversely, there is no age restriction for participation in the Emerging category.
Participants who are successfully selected will be integrated into a structured development pathway designed to prepare them for forthcoming domestic and international assignments, which are scheduled to be confirmed in due course.
The entire selection process across all nine venues will be supervised by national women”s selection committee members, former Pakistan women”s cricketer Batool Fatima and ex-Test cricketer Asad Shafiq. They will receive assistance from regional coaches on the ground.
