Javed Afridi, the owner of one of the most important cricket franchises in the Pakistan Super League, Peshawar Zalmi, has rejected an offer from the Israel-friendly multinational company Pepsi.

According to a statement from the Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir today, Pepsi had offered a significant fee to advertise their logo on the Zalmi jersey, which Javed Afridi refused, calling it a betrayal of the blood of Palestinians.

Afridi’s move has been widely praised by cricket fans. This offer was made just a few days before the start of the PSL cricket tournament. Pepsi has been dealt a major blow by this decision, and it is highly likely that other cricket franchises will also reject the offer.

In recent months, there has been a widespread boycott of Pepsi in Pakistan; however, unexpectedly, people purchased Pepsi beverages during Eid al-Fitr. Following Javed Afridi’s decision, there has been an increase in support for Zalmi, and chants and expressions of thanks in favor of Zalmi are expected during the matches held in Pakistan.
