PMDC Unveils Nationwide Admission Test Schedule

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) today announced that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held across the country on August 16, providing aspiring medical and dental students a pathway to admission in MBBS and BDS programmes.

According to the regulator, the examination will commence simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. nationwide. The PMDC has delegated responsibility for conducting the test to designated public-sector universities in different regions of the country.

The University of Health Sciences will administer the examination in Punjab, while Sukkur IBA University has been tasked with overseeing arrangements in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the test will be conducted by Khyber Medical University.

For candidates in Balochistan, the examination process will be managed by Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. Meanwhile, students from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will sit the test under the supervision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University.

The PMDC said the same university had also been assigned to facilitate candidates appearing for the examination in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Online registration for MDCAT 2026 will open on June 22. Applicants will be able to submit forms at the standard fee until July 8, while a late-registration window will remain available until July 13.

The registration fee for examination centres in Pakistan has been fixed at Rs9,000, increasing to Rs13,000 for late applicants. For overseas centres, candidates will be required to pay Rs45,000, while late registration will cost Rs55,000.

The PMDC stated that all registration fees would be non-refundable and non-transferable. It advised prospective candidates to complete the application process within the prescribed deadlines and regularly monitor the websites of the respective universities for updates and further instructions.
