Police Apprehend Wanted Snatcher Gang Members in Capital

Police today apprehended two wanted members of a notorious gang implicated in numerous snatching incidents, according to the Islamabad Capital Police.

A police team from the Sabzi Mandi station utilised a combination of technological and human intelligence to capture the suspects.

During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered stolen mobile phones and the weapons allegedly used by the individuals to carry out the criminal activities.

Formal cases were previously filed against the detained suspects, and an ongoing investigation is proceeding to gather more information.

In a statement, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, confirmed that stringent measures are being implemented against those involved in motorcycle theft and street robbery throughout the city.

These targeted operations have led to a discernible reduction in the frequency of such crimes within the federal capital.

The DIG instructed all police officers to persist with the crackdown on criminal elements, emphasising the importance of ensuring they face legal consequences.

He also urged residents to cooperate with the police force by promptly reporting any suspicious individuals, activities, or objects to their nearest police station or via the ‘Pucar-15’ emergency helpline.
