An alleged dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after a fierce exchange of fire with the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police in the North Nazimabad area on Tuesday.
The encounter took place in Block B of the area when law enforcement personnel confronted suspected criminals, leading to a shootout between the two sides.
During the firing, authorities managed to subdue and arrest one suspect, later identified as Dilawar son of Abdul Majeed. He was taken into custody after sustaining injuries in the encounter.
Upon searching the suspect, a pistol and ammunition were recovered from his possession. Officials at the scene also confiscated a vehicle that was in the suspect’s possession.
The injured individual was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Officials at the North Nazimabad police station have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter.
