Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Investigations, Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, today ordered a significant push to finalise pending criminal cases and mandated a crackdown on proclaimed offenders and absconding members of criminal gangs.
During a high-level session attended by the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the Soan Zone and various investigation officers, the SSP reviewed the progress of ongoing inquiries into robbery and other serious offences.
SSP Butt instructed his subordinates to conclude all pending cases strictly on merit. He emphasised that charge sheets (challans) submitted to the relevant courts must be supported by solid evidence to ensure the highest possible rate of convictions for culprits.
The senior officer further directed law enforcement officials to guarantee the apprehension of fugitive members of criminal syndicates and to maximise the arrests of proclaimed offenders who have so far evaded the justice system.
“The protection of the life and property of citizens is our top priority, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated,” he affirmed, issuing a stern warning against any laxity in performing official duties.
