SUJAWAL: Power outages and water scarcity continued Tuesday to haunt people of Sujawal despite high temperatures.
Affected citizens said that HESCO staff had shut down three transformers after the transformer of the fish market broke down. HESCO said that all the transformers will be restored after the repair of the fish market transformer.
After two weeks, transformers were repaired with Rs400,000 but after two days, they broke down again and HESCO staff demanded more money again, said citizens. After the appointment of the new HESO chairman, the staff started taking extortion, citizens added.
Due to power outages, people were also facing water scarcity in houses and mosques while all the business was down. Citizens appealed to the local administration to restore power and investigate HESCO staff for taking extortion.
