The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is championing a series of development initiatives, including a road rehabilitation project costing over 13.8 million rupees, as part of a broader strategy to enhance public welfare amidst economic pressures, a party official announced.
Karamullah Waqasi, Spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and the PPP’s Parliamentary Leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, today identified the rehabilitation of Sakhi Hassan Street as a significant step in the advancement of the city”s key areas.
The scheme is set to modernise the area”s infrastructure, incorporating extensive road repairs, an upgraded drainage system, and the construction of a modern dual carriageway designed to provide improved travel facilities for residents.
Waqasi stated that this project, alongside other ongoing undertakings, reflects the party leadership”s seriousness in resolving public issues and is an example of the PPP’s commitment to public welfare.
He explained that the overarching goal of these measures is to provide the best possible facilities to the populace and to ease their lives, noting that several projects currently underway will strengthen Karachi’s infrastructure and improve public amenities upon completion.
The spokesperson highlighted that the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, remains committed to ensuring public service continues despite prevailing economic challenges.
In addition to infrastructure schemes, Waqasi praised the Sindh government for its relief measures, pointing to a 35 billion rupee package provided to lessen the economic burden on the public. He specified that this package has delivered support to farmers, motorcyclists, and small traders.
Waqasi emphasised that the PPP is utilising all its resources for the city’s progress, with the launch of new projects reinforcing its commitment to public service. The stated aim is not only to make Karachi a modern city but also to shield its citizens from economic hardship.
He concluded by remarking that the opposition parties are concerned by these developments, but affirmed that Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab would continue to serve the city according to his vision.
