The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Monday condemned what it calls the “indifference and lack of timely response” from the provincial government following a deadly avalanche in Chitral, urging authorities to immediately launch comprehensive relief efforts for the victims.
In a statement, PPP Secretary General Muhammad Humayun Khan expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of life caused by the natural disaster. He extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased.
Mr Khan described the provincial administration”s alleged inaction in the face of severe climate-related disasters in the region as “highly concerning.” He called for the immediate initiation of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations in the affected areas.
The Secretary General further insisted that prompt financial and humanitarian assistance must be ensured for all those impacted by the avalanche, stating that the PPP stands shoulder to shoulder with the affected families in this difficult period.
Reaffirming the party”s position, Muhammad Humayun Khan noted that the organisation has always stood with the people in times of hardship and will continue to raise its voice for the rights and safety of the affected communities. He also offered Fateha for the departed souls.
