President and PM Call for Embracing Iqbal’s Vision on His Death Anniversary

The 87th death anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal is being observed today, with national leaders urging the public to embrace his vision for a progressive and sovereign Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of Iqbal’s thoughts in their commemorative messages.

President Zardari highlighted Iqbal’s significant contributions, urging citizens to adopt his teachings to achieve social and economic justice. Describing Iqbal as a thinker who addressed the decline of the Islamic Ummah, the President emphasized the poet’s call for knowledge, wisdom, and true religious values.

Prime Minister Sharif echoed these sentiments, recognizing Iqbal as a farsighted leader who envisioned a separate homeland for Muslims, later realized as Pakistan. He noted that Iqbal’s 1930 address laid the foundation for this vision, which was materialized under Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s leadership.
