The Para Force has begun preparations to handle resistance and public backlash.
Sources said on Tuesday that the Para Force is considering adopting pepper ball guns to deal with potential resistance and scuffles during its field operations.
The proposal, which is currently under consideration, aims to equip the force with modern tools, specifically for dispersing crowds. This consideration is in response to incidents of public opposition and physical altercations.
Functioning similarly to tear gas, pepper ball guns fire projectiles that cause severe irritation to the eyes and skin, in addition to creating breathing difficulties.
To assess their effectiveness and suitability, various models of this weapon system have already been procured and are being tested at the Para Headquarters.
The primary objective of introducing this equipment is to provide field units with an alternative method for managing and dispersing unruly gatherings.
