Punjab CM terms establishment of PERA vital to curb inflation

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the swift completion of legal procedures for the establishment of the Provincial Enforcement Regulatory Authority (PERA).

Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she emphasized that the establishment of a competent authority is essential to curb artificial inflation and hoarding.

She said structural reforms are being introduced in every sector and that encroachments in streets and markets cannot be tolerated. The meeting was briefed about progress of establishment of the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority.

Meanwhile, The School Education Department has imposed a ban on social media use for all officers and teachers. In light of federal government directives, the School Education Department issued a notification and also sent a letter to the heads of all district education authorities.

According to the notification, the use of social media by teachers and officers was prohibited, and any violations of the Punjab Government Rules of 1966 would result in action.
