Punjab Police Arrest 64 Involved in Drug Trafficking

In a major operation across Punjab, police have arrested 64 individuals involved in drug trafficking, seizing a significant quantity of narcotics. This operation is part of the Chief Minister’s “Safe Punjab” initiative.

Police also apprehended 56 individuals involved in electricity theft, an act that harms the national treasury. Cases have been registered in 149 incidents of this crime.

To ensure public safety, law enforcement agencies conducted 328 searches, interrogated 9,468 individuals, and detained 45 individuals suspected of various crimes.

Traffic enforcement remained a priority, with authorities issuing 16,046 driving permits and issuing challans for 40,225 traffic violations. These violations resulted in fines totaling 23 million rupees.

One individual was arrested and a case registered against him in connection with the dangerous activity of kite-flying. Additionally, 2,462 individuals availed themselves of 21 services provided at police service centers.
