A moderate earthquake struck Loralai and its adjoining areas in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Wednesday, prompting residents to rush out of their homes in panic, although no casualties or property damage were immediately reported.
Seismological Centre reported that the earthquake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale and originated at a depth of 12 kilometres, and its epicentre was located about 31 kilometres east of Loralai.
Local officials said they were monitoring the situation and confirmed that no injuries, structural damage, or aftershocks had been reported at the time of issuing the update.
The tremors caused alarm among residents, many of whom evacuated buildings and gathered in open spaces while offering prayers.
