LASBELA: Quetta-Karachi main highway was blocked on Thursday near Bela area of district Lasbella of Balochistan province against the division of district Lasbela into two separate districts.
According to detail, protesters of Jam group blocked Quetta-Karachi main highway, demanding the authorities to withdraw notification whereby district Lasbela of Balochistan province was divided into two separate districts.
Because of the protest, long queues of passenger coaches, trucks and other vehicles were witnessed on Quetta-Karachi highway, causing inconvenience to the passengers. Quetta-Karachi main highway remained blocked till writing this report. It is pertinent to mention that government of Balochistan on August 31, 2022 bifurcated district Lasbela into two districts viz., Hub district and Lasbela district.
