QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, said Thursday that situation caused in the wake of heavy downpour was continuously being monitored.
Talking to a delegation of parliamentarians of district Pishin who called on him at Chief Minister’s Secretariat under the leadership of MNA Molvi Kamal-ud-Din, he said that besides compensating the losses of people, restoration of basic structures in the rain affected areas would also be ensured.
He said it was being reviewed to declare the worst affected areas as “calamity hit” areas. Bizenjo said that district Pishin was also included in the rain affected areas of Balochistan province.
HE said that Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had been directed for immediate distribution of relief goods amongst the rain affected families of district Pishin. He added that the authorities of Board of Revenue, Balochistan had been directed to asses the damages caused by the recent downpour apart from assigning the task of relief and rehabilitation activities to Deputy Commissioners of the affected districts, adding that he himself was monitoring the ongoing relief and rehabilitation activities. On the occasion, MPAs Abdul Wahid Saddique, Azizullah Agha, Asghar Tarin and others were also present.
