LAHORE:A special court for narcotics control Tuesday summoned Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for indictment in a drugs case on June 25, 2022.

The court also sought a reply from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to an application submitted by the minister for unfreezing his assets and bank accounts.

Similarly, it directed the lawyers to give their arguments in Sanaullah’s another plea for permanent exemption from appearance in the court. The court said co-accused in the case had taken back their petitions against framing charges against them.

Rana was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) from the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Sukheki on July 1, 2019. The ANF had claimed then that 15 kilograms of drugs were recovered from his car. He was later released on bail in December of the same year.
