Prominent religious scholar Maulana Abdul Majeed Farooqui has said that religious seminaries are the primary protectors of the Islamic family system, social values, and national culture, who stepped up to help the nation after the existing system was dismantled by the British government after 1857.
The provincial president of the Pakistan Peace Council Sindh emphasized during a recent visit to Punjab today that these religious institutions are still fulfilling this protective role.
Maulana Farooqui, the Khatib of Jamia Masjid Al-Khalil, expressed these views after attending a Dastarbandi ceremony held at Jamia Qasimia in Faisalabad. The ceremony was hosted by the institution’s Mohtamim, Sahibzada Maulana Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, whom Farooqui congratulated on its success. He also extended congratulations to Maulana Hussain Ahmed Qasmi for obtaining the degree of a religious scholar.
During his tour, the religious scholar held meetings with officials of the Markazi Ulema Council Punjab, Maulana Azam Farooq, Maulana Muhammad Abid Farooqui, and Maulana Munir Tariq.
His tour also included a stop in Multan, where Maulana Farooqui met with Maulana Muhammad Ibrahim Faizi, visited his educational institution, and offered a special prayer for the progress of the seminaries.
Maulana Farooqui added that the services of the religious seminaries are beneficial not just to the Muslim community but to all of humanity. He concluded by reiterating that the supporters of these institutions will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for their protection.
