Retired employees demand group insurance

LARKANA: The members of All Sindh Retired Employees Association held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh Saturday for payment of group insurance.

The protesters were holding placards in their hands and were shouting slogans in favour of their just demand. Nadim Shaikh, Ghulam Hyder Sandeelo, Gul Hassan Chandio, Amrat Lal, Deedar Khokhar, Zamir Gaad, Saeed Khoso and others alleged that retired employees of other three provinces had been paid group insurance amount after Supreme Court order, but Sindh government was constantly and glaringly violating apex court orders as it had not yet paid group insurance amount to its retired employees most of them were suffering from various chronic ailments having no money to procure costly medicines in this massive price hike era or to get medical treatment to remain alive.

They said that the present Sindh government had various records, but non-payment to aged indisposed employees who served the nation for their life would surely bring serious curses and repercussions for them which would very badly affect them. They strongly condemned the lukewarm attitude of the rulers and said that they had funds for luxurious living on taxpayers’ hard earned money but there were no funds for group insurance payment which were regularly deducted from their monthly salaries.

They said they would continue their struggle for their legal right which could not be denied them. They appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the issue and order group insurance payment without loss of further time.
