Sakrand Police on Friday claimed to have captured two suspected members of an inter-district gang of robbers in an injured condition following an exchange of fire. The operation led to the recovery of a snatched motorcycle, cash, a mobile phone, and firearms.
According to the police report, the incident began when armed individuals forcibly took a motorcycle from a citizen within the jurisdiction of the Sakrand Police Station. Authorities were immediately notified of the crime.
In response to the report, law enforcement units initiated a pursuit of the suspects. During the chase, an armed encounter occurred between the police and the alleged perpetrators.
Following the confrontation, two individuals were taken into custody with injuries. They have been identified as Ghulam Muhammad, son of Babram Chandio, and Muhammad Panah, son of Shaman Chandio, both residents of Kotai Chandio.
Authorities reported the seizure of several items from the apprehended individuals, including the stolen 125 motorcycle, a Chinese motorcycle used by the suspects, the snatched mobile phone, Rs. 50,000 in cash, a 30-bore pistol, and a 9mm pistol.
According to police, the arrested men are connected to a criminal network with operations in Hyderabad, Dadu, and Jamshoro, and are allegedly involved in numerous illicit activities across these districts.
SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, Shabir Ahmed Sethar, commented on the incident, appreciating the timely action by the Sakrand Police. He affirmed that law enforcement remains vigilant to ensure the protection of citizens.
