Schools from one to eight classes had been closed in view of a spike in the cases of coronavirus in Balochistan

QUETTA: Spokesperson for provincial government, Liaquat Shahwani has said that schools from one to eight classes had been closed in view of a spike in the cases of novel coronavirus in Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference at officers club here on Monday, Shahwani said that the third wave of novel coronavirus had turned dangerous across the globe. He added that after the increase in coronavirus cases in the country, decision to enforce lockdown in the affected districts had been made.

He said that it had been decided to close business centres on Saturdays and Sundays to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the defiant shopkeepers were fined. He said that people were not observing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against COVID-19 pandemic.
