Security arrangements tightened in Islamabad during Muharram, orders to ensure implementation of protocol

Islamabad Police has tightened security arrangements for the upcoming Muharram processions. A highlevel meeting regarding Muharram security preparations was held under the chairmanship of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, which was attended by senior officers including SSP Investigation, SSP Operations, Zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs.

Muhammad Jawad Tariq directed the officers to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive security protocol throughout Muharram. He ordered increased patrolling, search, and surveillance at important locations. Processions will be monitored through Safe City cameras.

A complete ban will be imposed on aerial firing and disciplinary action will be taken against any SHO in whose jurisdiction such activity takes place. A command center has been established for ease of contact.

Strict checking will be carried out at all entry and exit points of Islamabad as well as at places of worship and Imambargahs.
