Seven Individuals Detained Following Extensive Security Sweeps Across the Capital

Islamabad police today claimed to have taken seven suspicious individuals into custody for legal proceedings following extensive search and combing operations conducted across multiple areas of the federal capital, officials confirmed.

The security sweeps, which fall under a broader initiative to curb criminal activities as directed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, were carried out within the jurisdictions of the Aabpara, Shahzad Town, and Noon police stations.

Supervised by zonal SPs, the operations resulted in the thorough inspection of 225 people, 99 residences, and 27 commercial establishments, including shops and hotels.

Additionally, law enforcement personnel examined 52 motorcycles and 19 other vehicles during the targeted maneuvers. A suspicious motorcycle was also impounded and moved to a police station for further investigation.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the primary objective of these initiatives is to tighten the security cordon around criminal elements and to fortify the overall security framework of the city.

He affirmed that the Islamabad Police will persist with indiscriminate actions against lawbreakers, specifically targeting criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers. Authorities also appealed to residents for their cooperation, urging them to report any unusual or suspicious activity to their nearest police station or by using the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.
