Seven-year child severely bitten by stray dog in Ratodero

LARKANA: A seven-year old boy was severely bitten by a stray dog outside his home in Bhutta Wandh area of Ratodero on Wednesday.

The bitten boy, Yasir Ali, son of Liaquat Mangrio, was brought to ARV vaccination Center of Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment of his wound and anti-rabies vaccine.

His heirs said that their kid was playing outside home when he was attacked by a wandering dog. He suffered severe injuries. They said that they found the child bleeding and rushed him to the centre for medical aid and anti-rabies vaccination as Ratodero Taluka headquarter hospital has no such facility. The injured boy was provided ARV and dressing of his wound.

The menace of dog bites continues to hit the citizens very hard everywhere in Larkana but the relevant municipal authorities are still mum without eliminating the pye-dogs as treatment of rabies costs the taxpayers’ money much more than eliminating them.
