Significant Narcotics and Illegal Arms Seizure in Capital-Wide Crackdown

Police today claimed to have seized a substantial quantity of narcotics and illegal weapons during a series of operations across the federal capital, resulting in the arrest of 22 individuals, according to a statement from the Islamabad Capital Police.

The haul included over three kilogrammes of various illicit drugs and multiple firearms. In one series of raids, teams from the Kohsar, Margalla, Tarnol, Sabzi Mandi, Lohi Bher, and Phulgran police stations apprehended 11 accused for their alleged involvement in different criminal activities.

From their possession, authorities recovered 1,192 gram of Hashish, 1,858 gram of Heroin, 110 gram of ice, and 27 bottles of liquor. Two pistols and a rifle, along with ammunition, were also confiscated. Cases have been registered against the suspects, and further investigations are ongoing.

Additionally, as part of a special campaign targeting fugitives, various police units detained another 11 proclaimed offenders and absconders.

The recent crackdown follows special directives from IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at maintaining peace and tranquility in the city.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the force”s mandate, stating, “The Islamabad Police is committed to protecting the lives and property of the residents and no elements will be allowed to disturb public peace.” He affirmed that ensuring citizen safety remains the force”s top priority.

Authorities also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster mutual cooperation in eradicating crime from society.
