Signing of Agreement on Digital Payments between National Bank and BOE

The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has taken a significant step in promoting digital transformation in government processes as it partners with the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BOE) to facilitate electronic fee payments.

At the ceremony held today, National Bank President Rehmat Ali Hasni and BOE Director General Javed Zia formalized this alliance, aiming to streamline fee transactions through Raast, Pakistan’s instant payment system.

This initiative signifies a major shift towards enhancing transparency and efficiency in financial dealings within government institutions. NBP’s Chief Digital Officer Adnan Nasir and other key officials attended the event, highlighting the importance of this collaboration.

The project aligns with NBP’s commitment to promoting a cashless economy, thereby reducing reliance on traditional cash-based systems. By leveraging digital platforms, both institutions aim to increase accountability and access for consumers, resulting in a more streamlined and modern public sector.

Through this partnership, NBP and BOE are poised to transform the financial landscape, encouraging other government institutions to adopt similar digital solutions for improved service delivery.
