Comrade Jamil Sheikh has been re-elected unopposed as Secretary of Sindh Adabi Sangat Nasirabad branch, who immediately outlined an ambitious plan to promote literary activities and significantly develop Sindh’s language, literature, and culture in the region.
The branch’s annual organizational elections held today were supervised by District Coordination Secretary and Election Committee Chairman Lakoo Shabir, accompanied by committee member Bashir Ahmed Aacho and journalist Shiraz Tanio. The unanimous decision retained Mr. Sheikh in his leadership position without any opposition.
Among other key office-bearers, Gulzar Channa was elected Joint Secretary, Ghulam Mujtaba Majnoon Soomro as Auditor, and Inamullah as Treasurer. Ali Gohar Jatoi was appointed Advisor, while Saeed Lohar, A.R. Chanjani, and Saleem Bhatti joined the Business Committee.
Addressing the attendees, Secretary Sheikh emphasized the critical need to strengthen literary endeavors and stressed the importance of collective action for the development of the Sindhi language, its literary heritage, and cultural identity.
He also expressed plans to initiate new projects and creative activities to engage younger generations with literature. An upcoming publication by the literary organization was also mentioned as part of these initiatives.
Furthermore, Mr. Sheikh expressed his intention to organize a significant literary gathering across the province, inviting prominent writers and poets from across Sindh to participate, to foster a more robust literary environment.
