Six die in road accidents

LAHORE:Six people died and several others sustained injuries in road accidents in different areas of Pakistan on Friday.

According to police, three people died in collision between a tractor-trolley and a trailer in Daska, Sialkot. The accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Bambawala police station. A speeding trailer rammed into a trolley laden with bricks. As a result, a man who sat on the top of the trolley fell on the ground and died.

Two passersby, riding a motorcycle, also died after all the bricks loaded on the trolley fell upon them. Rescue 1122 officials and patrolling police personnel shifted the dead bodies to Civil Hospital. In Jamshoro, Sindh, two persons died and as many sustained injuries in a pile-up between three vehicles. The accident occurred on Indus Highway near Khankot area between a Vigo van, a passenger bus, and a truck.

“Dead bodies and the injured have been shifted to hospital,” police said. “The deceased have been identified as Khurram and Aftab,” they added. “The accident occurred due to overtaking,” they stated.

In Khairpur, Sindh, a girl child died and more than 30 were injured after a bus carrying wedding guests overturned on Mehran Highway near Kot Lalu. The bus was on its way to Karachi from Thul when the accident occurred in Khairpur. The bride and the bridegroom were among the injured.
