Following the prompt intervention of the Women and Child Protection Unit in District East, a mother separated from her infant due to a domestic dispute has been successfully reunited with her child.
The action began on Monday when the child’s mother filed a petition with the protection unit, detailing a marital conflict that led to her separation from her infant.
Upon receiving the complaint, the unit’s in-charge, Inspector Khalida, initiated immediate action. The estranged couple was summoned to the unit, accompanied by Lady Police Constable Kiran.
Subsequently, detailed discussions with both parties and necessary legal procedures were completed.
The proceedings concluded with the decision to formally hand over the infant to the custody of his mother.
After being reunited with her child, the mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Women and Child Protection Unit East for their timely assistance and support in securing her child’s custody.
