The Islamabad police said on Monday that they have apprehended a wanted member of an organized gang implicated in numerous motorcycle thefts and recovered several stolen vehicles from his possession, marking a significant development in a city-wide anti-crime initiative.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Qasim, was taken into custody by a team from the Karachi Company police station. The operation utilized a combination of modern technical tools and human intelligence to track down the individual.
During the preliminary investigation, Qasim reportedly confessed to committing several thefts in the Karachi Company precinct and its surrounding areas. Formal cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is currently underway.
This arrest is part of a large-scale crackdown on criminal activities, particularly motorcycle theft, initiated under directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The campaign aims to enhance the safety and security of the federal capital.
