KIHD resume angioplasty after restoration of machinery

Karachi, November 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): KMC run Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases performed free of cost angioplasty of five patients in two days after the repairing and restoration of the machines whereas 15 more patients would get this facility in next few days. This may be noted that the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases provides free of charge cardiac treatment and diagnosis services to people, however owing to out of order machines and lack of resources it has difficulties in running its affairs however Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar with special efforts managed to restored two out of these three machines and then the KIHD resumed its cardiac ailment treatment services. Previously these machines were used to provide angioplasty to 25 patients and angiography to 115 patients.

Sikh Community delegation calls on Mayor Karachi

Karachi, November 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said the government taken good step by opening the Kartarpur corridor whereas Sikh community have ease in performing their religious rituals this would also pave way for better relations both communities. I will personally attend the Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary celebrations in Karachi.

He said this while talking to a delegation comprising members of Sikh community which led by patron in chief of Pakistan Sikh Council Sardar Ramesh Singh called on him in his office and invited him to lead the rally on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak on 11th November. Mayor Karachi accepted this invitation said that all possible municipal services will be provided to religious places of Sikh Community in the city.

Sikh Community Delegation calls on Deputy Mayor Karachi

Karachi, November 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Deputy Mayor Syed Arshad Hasan said minorities including Sikh community in Pakistan have religious freedom and rights under the constitution of Pakistan. Teachings of Baba Guru Nanak gives lesson of love, religious harmony and brotherhood among the various communities of the world. KMC will provide cooperation for the celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in Karachi. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Sikh community which led by president of Pakistan Sikh Welfare Committee Sardar Amar Singh called on the Deputy Mayor Karachi in his office on Monday.

Sardar Rajinder Singh, Sardar Jeeta Singh, city councillor Sardar Gurmukh Singh, Munawwar Jan, Pitras Yousuf and parliamentary leader of MQM in the City Council Aslam Shah Afridi were also present on this occasion. Deputy Mayor Syed Arshad Hasan issued directive to the concerned department of KMC to take immediate measures for providing better municipal facilities to the religious places of Sikh community. The leader of the delegation also gave invitation to the deputy mayor for the program which will be held on 16th November on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak which he accepted and assured all possible cooperation from KMC.

Free medical camp at city wardens headquarters

Karachi, November 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said that healthy employees not only contribute in progress of organization but also help establishing healthy society. Those organizations deserve praise which takes care of health of their staff and arrange for creating awareness among employees regarding benefits of good health and precautions. Working for others health maintenance and pleasure was considered good deed. He expressed these views while speaking as chief guest in the ceremony held at the city warden’s headquarters on the holding of the free medical camp on Friday.

Earlier he formally inaugurated the camp. Director city wardens Raja Rustam, medical superintendent Spencer Eye Hospital Dr Beerbal and others were also present on this occasion. The camp offered free medical test including sugar level, blood pressure, thalassemia with dental checkup, physiotherapy, eyes and ear checkup, screening and vaccination, blood donation, ultrasound, consultation etc. Spencer eye hospital and Essa Laboratory, Sailani Welfare Trust and other organizations coordinated for this camp. Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said that such medical camps are useful for any organization and hope that other organizations would to follow this. He said employees should not only utilize the checkup facility but also obtain the report of medical tests conducted here.

Mayor Karachi lay wreath on Mazar-e-Quaid, lead fire brigade rally, hoist national flag in KMC building

Karachi, August 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that this year whole Pakistani nation was showing solidarity with Kashmiris. Kashmiri blood would not go in vain and the time of their independence was near. Whole Pakistani nation, army and government was standing with Kashmiris. He said this after lying wreath on the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on 14th August and while leading a fire brigade rally and after that while talking to media at the national flag hoisting in KMC head office. The flag of Azad Kashmir was also hoisted besides the Pakistani flag.

Deputy Mayor Arshad Hasan, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, chairmen of KMC council and officers were also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi said that we should remember Kashmiris in these moments of observing our Independence Day. Replying to a query he said that infrastructure in Karachi could not bear the 200-milliliter rain, the city will be totally destroyed if immediate measures are not taken.

Sindh government should stop investing on ground and spend this money beneath the surface so that city infrastructure could be restored. He said that the drains were cleaned before rains therefore no overflow was seen. Sindh solid waste management board received 24 billion in four years, where this money went. K-Electric must give the answer for over 30 deaths in Karachi due to electrocution in rains. This happened only in Karachi. He expressed hope that the prime minister would soon announce special funds for Karachi.

Mayor help heirs of electrocuted citizens in lodging F.I.R

Karachi, August 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): The heirs of three people died of electrocution after touching the K-Electric pole lodged the F.I.R against the owner of K-Electric Arif Naqvi, CO Monis Abdullah Alvi and chairman Ikram Sehgal in Darakhshan Police Station in the presence of Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar in it was requested that action may be taken against the persons responsible for this negligence under section 322, 268/34.

Mayor Karachi helped these people lodging the F.I.R and remained there for 6 hours. Talking to media on this occasion Mayor Kracahi Wasim Akhtar said that citizens can not be leave on the mercy of organizations like K-Electric. Out of 33 deaths 16 were only ward of their parents. He said F.I.Rs should be lodged for other deaths in the city and the case would be registered in the Supreme Court in light of these F.I.Rs.

NDMA starts drain cleaning on the appeal of Mayor Karachi

Karachi, August 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): On the appeal of the Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar, the National disaster management authority begun work on cleaning of Karachi drains. This may be noted that the Mayor Karachi had in view of the worst condition after recent rains declared the city as calamity hit area and appealed to the provincial and federal government that KMC has no resources therefore they should help it so that citizens could be felicitated.

The NDMA officials on the request of Mayor Karachi inspected the Songal drain on Wednesday and started work on its cleaning. KMC officers and elected representatives were also present on this occasion. The NDMA was also given a detailed briefing on the cleaning of this drain and other drains of Karachi.
