China is Pakistan’s selfless and trustworthy friend: National Assembly Deputy Speaker

Islamabad, November 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Soori has said that China is Pakistan’s selfless and trustworthy friend and always stood with Pakistan in every thick and thin. He said that Pakistan was proud of its unique friendship with China. He expressed these views while talking to 15 member delegation of National People’s Congress of China (NPC) which met him under the leadership of Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC Mr. Zhang Chunxian at Parliament House on Friday.

The Deputy Speaker said that peoples of both the countries have great respect and affection for each other. He said that closed contacts between the Parliaments of two countries could play an important role to promote harmony and bring both the nations more closer. He appreciated China role in economy and social development of Pakistan. He said that construction of Gwadar Port and other development projects in Balochistan under China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the evidence of China’s keen interest in development of prosperity of Balochistan. He said that China has status of role model for the world due to its rapid development. He said that Pakistan wanted to take advantages from Chinese experiences in eradication of corruption and poverty from the country.

The Deputy Speaker said that CPEC project is proof of deep and friendly relations between two countries. He said that Pakistan has fully focused to complete the CPEC project within earliest possible time. He expressed the confidence that with the completion of CPEC a new era of progress and prosperity usher in the region. He appreciated the warm welcome extended to Prime Minister Imran Khan by the Chinese leadership and people during his visit to China. He expressed the optimism that new vistas of development and prosperity will be opened by the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran to China. He said that the under leadership of Imran Khan present Government striving hard to eradicate corruption and poverty from the country and strengthening the economy.

The Vice Chairman Standing Committee of NPC Mr Zhang Chunxian said that relations with Pakistan has significant importance in the foreign policy of China. He said that Pakistan always supported China on regional and global forums. He assured all out assistance of Chinese Government for economic development and elimination of poverty and corruption in Pakistan.

He said that role of legislative institutions and political leadership of the country is very important in eradication of corruption and poverty. Stressing the need for enhanced contacts between the NPC and National Assembly of Pakistan Mr Zhang Chunxian said that the closed interaction between the Parliamentarians of both the countries would provide opportunities to learn from each other experiences.

I Want To See Pakistani Youth Highly Educated And Assets For Prosperous Future Of The Country: Says NA Speaker

Islamabad, November 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that he wanted to see the Pakistani Youth highly educated and assets for prosperous future of the country. He further said that opportunities should be provided to Pakistani students to attain higher education in Britain. He said that he is ready to cooperate at every level with all countries including UK for higher education of the youth. He expressed these views while talking to High Commissioner of Britain Mr. Thomas Drew, who called on him at Parliament House on Thursday.

The Speaker said that Pakistan wanted to strengthen its relations with friendly countries like UK. He said that Pakistan desired to enhance the relations with all countries for development and prosperity of the region. He stressed the need for enhance interaction between the Parliamentarians of both the countries. He said that regular interaction between the Parliamentarians would provide them opportunities to learn from each other experiences. He said that with exchanged of the Parliamentary delegations; library, research and legislation sections can be strengthen and standing committees system can be made more effective.

The Speaker said that the present Government wanted to get information and experiences through enhanced Parliamentary cooperation with other countries. He said that Pakistani students were taking keen interest in British system of education. He said that he wanted to establish education city where the children of needy and low income persons can get education. Asad Qaiser expressed his commitment for education of street and destitute children. He further said that he was concerned about women education and working hard for this purpose.

The Speaker said that Pakistan expatriates were playing important role in the Parliament and Government of Britain besides other sphere of the life. He said that large number of representation of Pakistanis emigrants in House of Commons and House of Lords is highly commendable. He stressed the need for active role of Pakistani expatriates representatives in British Parliament for bringing innovation in Pakistani Institutions.

The Britain High Commissioner Mr. Thomas Drew has said that the Institutions will be strengthened with continuity of the democracy in Pakistan and it will also boost the economy of the country. He said that Government and Parliament of Britain will cooperate to increase the capacity of the Parliamentarians as well as staff of the Pakistani Parliament. He assured the Speaker that the Britain has continued its support Pakistan in education and other sectors.

Challenges Confronting To Ummah Can Be Overcome By Following The Teachings Of Allama Iqbal: NA Speaker

Islamabad, November 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a visionary poet who conceived the idea of separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent that was ultimately materialized in the shape of Pakistan, said Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in his message on the occasion of the 141th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The Speaker said that prior the passage of Pakistan resolution Allama Iqbal’s philosophical and poetic writings were instrumental in formation and moulding of public opinion. The Speaker said that the dream of Allama Iqbal was a great blessing for the Muslims of the sub-continent and added that his poetic message roused and strengthened the spirit and will of the Muslims to get independent and separate homeland for them where they could live according to their religious, culture and traditions.

Asad Qaiser said that Allama Iqbal visualized the suffering of Ummah and masses that led to their meltdown and also proposed recipe for their revival and regaining the lost glory of the Muslims. He based his thoughts on the Holy Quran and prompted humanity in his interpretations. He awakened the Muslims from disillusionment and reminded them about the future.

He said that the Muslim Ummah in general and Pakistan in particular today was confronting tremendous problems and challenges that could be overcome through the proposed remedies by Hakeem-ul-Ummah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He said that Allama Iqbal was the great proponent of unity of Muslim Ummah and reliance on their resources and strength. He said that much of today’s problems will simply vanish by following the teachings of Allama Iqbal and strictly following Islamic ways of life.

On this occasion the Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Soori has said that Iqbal’s vision of Islamic society was universal and transcended beyond limits of territorial boundaries and barriers of nationhood. He said that his vision of Islam was global, encompassing every colour and race of humanity. The Deputy Speaker said that extremism and bigotry had no place in the Allama Iqbal scheme of things and he wanted Muslims to be moderate, peaceful and enlightened so that their deeds convince non-Muslims to develop penchant for Islam.

Energy Project of the Year 2018 Green Parliament of Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Islamabad, November 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): Former Speaker National Assembly Mr. Ayaz Sadiq presented the Green Parliament Award to the Speaker National Assembly Mr. Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker, Mr. Muhammad Qasim Khan Soorifor being awarded with “Energy Project of the Year 2018” by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), during 2018 World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA on 16th October, 2018. Former Deputy Speaker, Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Syed Naveed Qamar MNA and Project Manager, Mr. Shahid Shoukat was also present while presenting this award.

The Speaker Mr. Asad Qaiser expressed his delight and gave the credit of the award to the Former Speaker, Mr. Ayaz Sadiq, for carrying out such remarkable achievement. He further said that this is excellent step in the energy sector and it should be publicized in best national interest.

The award recognizes the project that has achieved prominence in promoting energy conservation approach and opting the renewable solar energy for sustainable development. Green Parliament project was presented with this award for its “first-of-a-kind approach” for its remarkable achievement/milestone in the shape of Green Parliament.

Parliament House of Pakistan got the distinction to be the World’s first largest Green legislative by taking comprehensive energy conservation measures as a “first fuel”, implementation of energy management system (EnMS) and shifting on renewables energy. These measures helped to curtail more than one half of overall usage of electrical as well as gaseous energies in the building and cut the annual energy usage form 35723728.3 kWh to 10832995.7 kWh and saved 59260606.03 kWh equivalent to 220.68 million PKR saving so far besides a saving of capital investment of around 1.02 billion. It also drastically reduced around 30429.64 tons of CO2 emissions so far, which is equivalent to 1.38 million trees planted and 10639.73 tons of coal burn.

NA Speaker Stresses Need For Joint Efforts To Confront Problems Being Faced By The Ummah

Islamabad, November 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that close friendly relation between Pakistan and Iran were imperative for regional peace, security and prosperity. He expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of Iran Mr. Mehdi Honardoost who called on him at Parliament House on Wednesday. The matters pertaining to bilateral relations and regional issues and important regional and global issues were discussed in the meeting.

The Speaker said that Pakistan values high its brotherly relations with Iran and incumbent Government desired to further strengthening relations between two neighbouring countries. He stressed the need for enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in the areas of trade, investment and energy for mutual benefits, added that both the countries have to work together to resolve the problems being faced by the Ummah. He said that the booth the country needed consensus on matters of international importance. He said that practical steps were needed from both sides to bring the people of the both country more closer.

Ambassador of Iran Mr. Mehdi Honardoost said that Iran gives great importance to its relations with Pakistan and consider Pakistan as its partner for peace in the region. He said that Iranian Leadership and government are keen to strengthen the relation between two countries. Iranian Ambassador agreed with the proposal of Speaker for diversification of trade and economic relations. He said that historic friendly relations existed between two nation and both the countries always stood with each other in difficult time.

Iranian Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s roles for promoting unity among Muslim countries. He stressed the need for collaboration between two countries to promote sustainable patterns of governance and assist each other in institutional building for effective governance. He also extended invitation to the Speaker to attend 2nd Speakers Conference in Tehran on 7-8 December.

The 1st meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on General Elections, 2018

Islamabad, November 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): The 1st meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on General Elections, 2018 was held in Committee Room No.2, Parliament House, Islamabad at 02:00 p.m today. The Committee unanimously elected Mr. Pervez Khattak, MNA as its Chairman. His name was proposed by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, MNA and seconded by Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA. The Chairman elect asked the Treasury and Opposition Benches to nominate eight (8) members (on parity basis) to appoint a Sub-Committee with the mandate to frame Terms of References (ToRs) of the Committee.

Heart Of The People Of Pakistan And Turkey Beat Together: NA Speaker

Islamabad, November 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that heart of the people of Pakistan and Turkey beat together and both brotherly Muslims countries has always stood together in the times of need. He expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, who called on him at Parliament House on Wednesday.

The Speaker said that Pakistan and Turkey were tied in the bond of common religion, culture and history. He said that both the countries have similar perceptions on regional and global issues and always support each other at regional and global forums. He said that Pakistan is proud of its unique friendship with people and leadership of Turkey and wanted to bring the existing bilateral relations to new heights.

He further said that the Parliamentarian of both the countries could play important role for promoting harmony and bringing both the nations more closer. He said that China, Pakistan economic corridor will be beneficial for all the country of the region and will prove helpful to overcome poverty and unemployment. The Speaker also invited Turkey to take part CPEC Projects.

Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, said that Turkey gives great importance to its friendly relations with Pakistan and committed to further strengthening the existing relations. He said that people of Turkey considered Pakistan their second home and wanted to see a strong and prosperous Pakistan. He appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and prosperity of the region.

Mr. Ihsan Mustafa appreciated the invitation of Speaker National Assembly to participate Turkey in CPEC Projects and further sad that he will convey the message of Speaker to hi leadership. He also extended invitation to Speaker to attend 2nd league of Parliamentarian conference for Al Quds which will be held on 14th December 2018 at Istanbul.
