QUETTA: Ten shopkeepers were arrested and their shops sealed in an operation launched by the district administration Quetta against profiteers on the complaint of general public in Qambrani road area of the provincial capital on Friday.
According to details, staff of district administration Quetta under the supervision of Nisar Ahmed Langove, Assistant Commissioner, Sariab Road arrested 10 shopkeepers, defying the price control list prescribed by district administration Quetta, in an operation conducted in Qambrani Road area of Quetta.
Several shops were sealed, fined and strict warnings to the owners of carts were issued on the occasion not to encroach on the road. Talking to PPI on the occasion, Nisar Ahmed Langove, Assistant Commissioner, Sariab said it would be ensured to implement the price list of daily commodities at any cost, adding that no one would be permitted to add to the miseries of people by creating artificial inflation.
He said that several teams, comprising staff of district administration, had been formed to monitor on daily basis as to whether price list issued by the district administration was being followed or not, adding that in case of violation, strict legal action would be taken against the violators.
