Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori formally inaugurated the air operations of a Malaysian private airline from Pakistan, marking a significant step forward in strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia relations.

The ceremony was attended by the Malaysian Consul General, the airline’s CEO, and other distinguished guests, symbolizing growing diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations, the Governor House informed today.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Tessori lauded the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), describing it as a visionary initiative that has successfully attracted Malaysian investment. He appreciated the efforts of the President, Prime Minister, and Chief of Army Staff for their tireless commitment to economic reform and development.

He assured full cooperation for the smooth operation of the Malaysian airline and emphasized that the nation must work together for Pakistan’s progress. He noted that the entry of the airline will enhance Karachi’s standing on the global aviation map, calling it a reflection of international trust and opportunity aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s broader vision.

‘This development is not just an air connection,’ he said, ‘but a firm step toward Pakistan’s integration into the global economy and aviation network.’

The Governor also highlighted the potential benefits of the new air link, including increased tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. ‘It will open new doors for economic activity, generate employment opportunities, and further promote people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Malaysia,’ he added.

The Malaysian Consul General and the CEO of the airline expressed their gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and Governor Sindh for their support and hospitality. They reaffirmed their commitment to providing world-class service and enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with a ribbon-cutting event and a ceremonial welcome of the first flight, signifying a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
