The 51st death anniversary of Radio Pakistan’s first Director General and renowned author Zulfiqar Ali Bokhari is being observed with great reverence today.
Bokhari was born in 1904 in Peshawar and began his distinguished career with All India Radio. After the establishment of Pakistan, he played a crucial role as the first Director General of Radio Pakistan and shaped the country’s broadcasting landscape.
After retiring from Radio Pakistan, Bokhari left his mark by becoming the first General Manager of Pakistan Television’s Karachi center in 1967 and demonstrated his commitment to the development of media in Pakistan.
In addition to his achievements in broadcasting, Bokhari was also a capable author. He wrote several works, including his famous autobiography “Sarguzasht” and “Jo Kuch Mein Ne Kaha,” which is a book on music and reflects his deep connection to the arts.
Zulfiqar Ali Bokhari passed away on this day in 1975 in Karachi, leaving behind a legacy that continues to equally inspire media professionals and literary enthusiasts.
