Traffic – Islamabad Police Crackdown Against One-Way Driving, 31 Drivers Challaned

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have launched a major operation against one-way driving, impounding hundreds of vehicles and issuing numerous challans. On the directions of Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the crackdown aims to curb dangerous driving practices and improve road safety.

Since the start of the operation, 280 cases have been registered for one-way violations, resulting in the impoundment of 820 vehicles and motorcycles. Just yesterday, 31 drivers were challaned for violating one-way rules. ITP has reported a significant decrease in such violations as a result of strict enforcement.

Officials stated that one-way violations pose a serious threat to the safety of drivers and other road users. The ITP has appealed to the public to drive responsibly and adhere to traffic laws. A social media campaign is underway to raise awareness amongst citizens about the dangers of one-way driving.

ITP officers are continuously present on the roads to prevent violations. Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Shafqaat confirmed that the operation will continue without exception.
