Saharyab Adabi Forum, in collaboration with Paigham-e-Pakistan and Muhib-e-Qaumi Samaji Council, and with the support of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, held a seminar and mushaira on Tuesday for the tragedy of East Pakistan and the tragedy of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar.
Addressing the joint seminar and mushaira, distinguished personalities paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the East Pakistan tragedy and the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar, vowing to eradicate terrorism from the country and avenge the enemy’s conspiracies.
The commemorative event was organized by Saharyab Adabi Forum, Paigham-e-Pakistan, and Muhib-e-Qaumi Samaji Council, with the support of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, in memory of the victims of the two national tragedies.
In their addresses, chief guests Dr. Abid Sherwani Advocate, Dr. Iftikhar Malik, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Nisar, Muslim Pervez, and Hamid-ul-Salam Khan emphasized that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten. They described the incidents as “two wounds that are still fresh in our hearts.”
The speakers unanimously pledged to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the nation and reiterated their commitment to national security.
A cultural tribute was also paid on this solemn occasion, with renowned poets Sehar Ali and Qamar Jahan presenting a poignant poetic tribute to the martyrs, further reinforcing the theme of remembrance.
Presided over by Professor Dr. Shadab Ehsani, the seminar was moderated by Syed Abdul Basit. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Allama Murtaza Khan Rehmani, followed by introductory remarks by Aslam Khan Farooqi.
The gathering concluded with a special prayer led by Maulana Abdul Majeed Farooqi, praying for the martyrs of the East Pakistan tragedy and APS Peshawar, and for the continued peace and stability of the country.
