Two Arrested as Police Seize Multiple Illegal Firearms in Capital Crackdown

The city police today claimed to have apprehended two individuals and confiscated a significant cache of illegal firearms and ammunition in the capital, marking a notable development in the city”s ongoing campaign against unlawful weaponry.

The arrests were made by a Phulgran police team during a search operation, part of a swift-moving “weapon-free city” initiative progressing under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The seized arsenal includes a diverse range of firearms: a Kalashnikov, a 30-bore pistol, a 223 bore rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and a 303 rifle, along with corresponding ammunition.

Legal cases have been registered against the detained individuals, and a more detailed investigation into the matter has been launched.

SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza stated that a strict zero-tolerance policy against the possession of illegal arms is being rigorously enforced. He also urged residents to register their licensed weapons at their respective police stations without delay.

Reaffirming that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is their foremost priority, the Islamabad Police issued an appeal for public cooperation.
