KARACHI: In a tragic incident, the roof of a private hostel caved in at Riaz Colony in Bahawalpur after a water tank installed on the rooftop burst on Saturday, which resulted in the death of two female students, while the condition of four others were said to be very critical.
The injured girls were rushed to a hospital for medical assistance. According to details, six students were trapped under the debris and a rescue operation was underway to retrieve them.
On the other side, the students of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur demanded an inquiry into the unfortunate incident. One of the students said that the hostel’s infrastructure was outdated and was not meeting the safety standards.
