Two minor brothers tragically drowned in a canal near Basti Ghulam Abad, located on 36 Mor Road, Okara. The sons of Liaqat Ali, Ahmed (approximately 8 years old) and Waris (approximately 6 years old), residents of Basti Ghulam Abad, had gone to bathe in the canal and did not return.
Family members retrieved the unconscious children from the canal and began transporting them to a hospital for medical assistance. En route, they were intercepted by rescue personnel who had arrived at the scene with two motorcycles and an ambulance. Immediate CPR attempts were made by the rescue workers, but the children could not be saved. The grieving family subsequently refused further hospital transfer.
