LARKANA:The members of All Sindh Education Department Lower Staff Association, Larkana Taluka and All Pakistan Clerks Association of Population Welfare Department held two large protest demonstrations separately at Jinnah Bagh Monday where they also shouted slogans while holding placards in their hands.

Their president, Muhammad Ishaque Mari, vice president Ramzan Jatoi, Asif Kalhoro, Shahbaz Umrani and others said that Sindh government’s step-motherly treatment with the lower staff is highly condemnable because hurricane of inflation has ruined their lives as their monthly salary is very low due to which they are facing massive troubles in running their home affairs. They demanded increase in monthly salaries as per the surge in prices of daily use commodities. They also demanded upgradation of their posts, award of utility allowance, uniform allowance and opening of closed IDs which were put off on the pretext of biometric verification.

Peeral Dayo of Population Welfare Department said that petrol, oil, diesel, electricity and gas prices have increased enormously and price hike is at its historical peak which has very seriously affected low-paid government employees as they are unable to feed two meals to their family members in a day and provincial rulers who claim to have been elected by the people of Sindh are not prepared to raise their monthly salaries according to inflation.

He said worst affected are the pensioners whose pension was declined despite the prime minister’s announcement in the national assembly. He demanded an end of hiked rates, unemployment, poverty and lawlessness and a hike in salaries to meet the monthly expenses. He also demanded resolution of all problems faced by colleagues of his department.
