Unicef And Pakistan To Intensify Child Rights Collaboration

A UNICEF team, led by Country Representative Ms. Pernille Ironside, met with Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, in Islamabad to discuss amplified joint efforts to protect children in Pakistan. The minister welcomed the delegation and expressed optimism about Ms. Ironside”s tenure. He reiterated the government”s dedication to fostering a secure and supportive atmosphere for all children.

Discussions centered on strategies to prevent and address child abuse, along with developing a long-term action plan with UNICEF to shield minors from exploitation and harm.

Ms. Ironside lauded Pakistan”s latest endeavors, specifically the implementation of the Child Marriage Restraint Act and other advanced child welfare policies. She confirmed UNICEF”s ongoing dedication to collaboration and assistance in bolstering child safety systems nationwide.
