The Gurdwara Kartarpur Governing Council has decided to immediately restore sections of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor project damaged by recent floods, following a meeting where the impact of what was termed “Indian water aggression” was a key point of discussion.
To fast-track the necessary repairs and restoration efforts, the council resolved to convene a subsequent meeting within the next two weeks, according to a report today.
The decision was made during the eighth meeting of the governing body, which took place in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Secretary for Religious Affairs Sajid Mahmoud Chauhan.
During the session, Mr Chauhan emphasised that the Kartarpur Corridor project stands as a symbol of humanitarianism and interfaith harmony.
The secretary also affirmed that the provision of the best possible facilities for Sikh pilgrims, known as Yatrees, is being ensured.
Echoing this sentiment, Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora expressed a firm commitment to offering excellent hospitality to Sikh Yatrees visiting the site.
