Villager tortured ruthlessly near Larkana

DOKRI: Legs and hands of a villager Qurban Ali Chandio were fastened, and he was dragged from his home and beaten up in front of his family members allegedly by people of Gadahi community over a petty issue in Dokri’s agricultural farm area on Tuesday.

He was later taken to Dokri police station where police shifted him to the Emergency Ward of the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment with a letter. During the beating, his daughter was crying for rescuing her father, but they allegedly dragged him till the police station. They also made his video which went viral on social media.

Chandio told newsmen at the CMCH that a wall of his home fell down during heavy rains five days ago and some members of Gadahi community were stealing his bricks, hence, he asked them not to take his bricks because he will again construct the wall after rains.

He further alleged that influential people of Gadahi community, including Liaquat Gadahi, Nabi Bux Gadahi and 20 others, forcibly entered his house, tied his hands and feet with ropes, tortured and dragged him to the police station which was barbaric act. The accused are claimed to be henchmen of an influential Sardar.

He urged the DIGP and SSP Larkana to take notice of the matter, arrest the accused and provide protection to him. After the video went viral, newly posted SSP Asif Raza Baloch took notice of the issue and called for a report from DSP Dokri.

Later police claimed to have arrested one accused Liaquat son of Muhammad Khan Gadahi. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report. SSP Asif Raza Baloch said that anyone taking law into hands will be dealt with by the iron hands of law.
