Karachi faces a major disruption in water supply as the Pipri Pumping Station has lost power due to a cable fault under the management of K-Electric. The incident occurred last night at 10:15 PM. This station supplies 145 million gallons of water daily to various parts of the city including Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim, and DHA.

The outage comes at a time when the city is already experiencing severe heat, exacerbating the discomfort of its residents. The Water Corporation has acknowledged the severity of the situation, and a spokesperson confirmed that the fault has not yet been rectified.

Efforts to resolve the crisis are ongoing, with Water Corporation officials continuously in contact with K-Electric management to expedite the repair process. If the water supply is delayed, it could severely impact daily activities and health safety protocols, which are crucial to prevent heat-related illnesses during this severe weather.

Residents of the affected areas have been advised to conserve water and stay alert for updates from city authorities. Officials have not yet announced when repairs will be completed and when water supply will be restored.
