Senior Minister Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly criticized the leadership of MQM Pakistan, calling their recent press conference an attempt to regain their political influence, which includes baseless allegations and old stories.
In a statement today, Memon emphasized that MQM’s political strategy has always been based on slogans and the creation of crises, a tactic he claims is being repeated even today. He accused MQM of deliberately complicating issues related to provincial autonomy, constitutional authority, and the local government system.
Highlighting ongoing development projects like the Yellow Line and Bhutto Highway, Memon termed them solid evidence of the Sindh government’s commitment to practical work. He claimed these projects represent undeniable progress amidst any propaganda.
To resolve legal or administrative disputes related to public places, Memon advocated for solutions through judicial or proper institutional channels. He expressed regret that MQM has a history of exacerbating Karachi’s challenges through ineffective governance and self-serving politics, now being presented in the guise of saviors.
Memon claimed that the Sindh government has provided local institutions not only with authority but also financial and legal support. He highlighted Karachi’s status not as a political fiefdom but as the economic center of Pakistan.
Criticizing those who use criticism of development as a political weapon, he said such actions are an acknowledgment of their own political decline.
