KARACHI: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on Thursday sealed a private school for its establishment without SBCA’s approval in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city.
The authorities sealed the school after a resident of the area complained that the area people are facing problems during school hours. However, school’s administration alleged that the authorities had issued no prior notice to it before taking action that has affected students’ study and staff teaching.
More than 90 students and school staff were forced today to stay on the footpath during the sealing of school. Meanwhile, a student fainted while waiting outside the school that caused tension among students, parents and staff.
On the directives of director schools, a three-member committee has been set up to investigate the matter. Deputy Director Private Schools Abdul Razzaq Qazi said they would request the authorities for action against SBCA. The school has been sealed without serving any notice, he added.
