304,185 patients recovered from coronavirus in Pakistan

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): 385 more people tested Covid positive after the tests of 26,951 over the last twenty-four hours. According to the latest statistics, the contagion claimed lives of 10 more people during the last twenty-four hours. The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 304,185. There are now 8,552 active cases in the country.

Anti-Pakistan elements trying to destabilize Pakistan through nefarious designs: Foreign Minister

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said anti-Pakistan elements are trying to destabilize Pakistan through their nefarious designs and some factions are causing damage to the country by playing in their hands. Speaking in Multan, he said progress on the path of development will continue despite hurdles being created by such elements.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan has given a clear message that corrupt elements will be held accountable. He said government’s strategy to implement smart lockdown was appreciated in the world and that Ehsaas programme is the most transparent poverty alleviation initiative of the government.

Prime Minister Imran to bring inflation down: Railways Minister

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said Prime Minister Imran Khan will bring the inflation down as he is working to resolve the issues of the country in a befitting manner. Talking to a private news channel, he said the Opposition parties’ anti-government movement aims to disturb economy and stability in the country.

Sheikh Rasheed assured that the government under the dynamic leadership of Imran Khan will overcome the present day challenges. To a question, he said there is a conspiracy and international agenda against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and ML-1 but both the projects will be completed at all costs.

Dr. Fehmida stresses for affective breast cancer awareness campaign

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Dr. Fehmida Mirza has stressed the need to make more affective the breast cancer awareness campaign to educate the women about diagnosis in early stage to eliminate the menace of deadly disease.

Talking to PTV, the minister said only effective measures and early diagnosis may lead in elimination of such menace. She said that she had moved a bill in the Parliament to make it mandatory for women to have breast cancer screening and mammograms yearly. She said the cases of breast cancer were increasing with every passing day in the country and globally.

India using terrorists groups to de-stabilize Pakistan, other neighbouring countries: Rehman Malik

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Rehman Malik says India has turned into a hub of Daesh operators working with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, endangering peace in South Asian region.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he said that 44 Indian banks have been flagged in connection with transactions by Indian entities and individuals in a set of Suspicious Activity Reports filed by US banks with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.

He regretted that in spite of that FATF is reluctant to take any action against India. He urged the UN, US, and FATF to take the notice of these suspicious transactions through Indian banks. He said that India is using Daesh terrorists against Pakistan, China, and other neighbouring countries. He said US magazine has also confirmed that Daesh has stronghold in India.

The Chairman of Senate Standing committee on interior said India has a covert plan to continue proxy wars through extremist groups on its side against Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China and other countries. He said Indian intelligence agencies are providing training to these terrorists at five different locations.

The senator said that the recent wave of sectarian hatred is a pre-planned conspiracy of Indian spy agency RAW to weaken Pakistan. Rehman Malik said India is trying to undermine Pakistan army by propagating against it in Indian media and other like-minded media houses hired for this purpose.

Prime Minister directs to utilize volunteers of Tiger Force to check inflation in essential commodities

Islamabad, October 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the volunteers of the Tiger Force to regularly check prices of basic commodities like Flour, Sugar, Ghee and lentils in their localities. In a tweet, he asked the volunteers to post the prices on Tiger Force Portal. The Prime Minister said he will meet with the Tiger Force volunteers on Saturday next at Convention Center in Islamabad.
