In a decisive move against organized beggars in Hyderabad, law enforcement agencies conducted a targeted operation on Auto Bhan Road and Bhittai Nagar, arresting 28 professional beggars. In the operation, conducted under the direction of SSP Adeel Hussain Chandio, these individuals abandoned six children while fleeing.

Authorities were surprised by the revelation that the individuals feigning disabilities were, in fact, physically healthy. This discovery has intensified efforts to dismantle the networks that exploit vulnerable individuals for profit. The women and children apprehended during the operation have been moved to the women’s police station for their safety.

The search for the guardians of the abandoned children is ongoing, and the children are currently under the care of the Child Protection Unit. Maria Saring, head of the Human Rights Cell and a key member of the Anti-Begging Committee, confirmed that legal action against the organized gangs of professional beggars is in progress.
