The Balochistan government has decided to launch the Benazir Kisan Card scheme to support small farmers in the province, the government’s spokesperson, Shahid Rind, announced on Friday.
Speaking to the media, Mr Rind said today the initiative, proposed by the Agriculture and Cooperative Department, aims to provide subsidies to small agriculturists.
He further disclosed that the Science and Information Technology Department would establish a cloud-based system to manage the scheme’s operations for the next two years.
The first phase of the scheme will be implemented using provincial resources, he added, while the federal government will be approached for assistance in the second phase.
